A man was arrested early Thursday morning after a motor vehicle incident in Merritt.
Shortly before 2am, Merritt Front Line officers were called to the intersection of Blair St. and Coutlee Ave. where a pick up truck crashed into a parked vehicle.
In a message from Staff Sgt. Josh Roda of the Merritt RCMP, “the driver showed symptoms of impairment and was arrested for impaired driving. ”
Charges are being recommended to the BC Prosecution Service.
With the events and activities happening in Merritt this weekend, the Merritt RCMP again encourages the public to not drink and drive.
Roda added that if you are celebrating this weekend, plan your rides before you go out, call a taxi or walk.
