Overnight closures announced Thursday for emergency department in Merritt

Interior Health (IH) announced overnight closures at emergency room in Merritt beginning Thursday (July 4).

In news releases distributed to local media, the emergency department at Nicola Valley Hospital will be closed from 6:00 p.m. Thursday to 7:00 a.m. Friday. Residents who need to see an emergency physician are urged to attend Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops.

Both closures are attributed to limited nursing availability.
