Motorists are advised of a wind warning that may cause driving issues today near the City of Merritt.
Environment Canada reports that a Pacific frontal system is moving through Southern BC today. Strong southwest to west wind between 70 km/h and 90 km/h is expected across many of the southern BC interior communities.
The special wind warning is for the Coquihalla between Merritt and Kamloops and the Connector from Merritt to Kelowna.
High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break. Motorists, especially in high sided vehicles, may expect hazardous driving conditions on highways subject to strong cross winds.
There is also the possibility of power outages as well.
