MSS Athletes Competing In Track & Field Provincials

Two members of the Merritt Secondary School (MSS) Track and Field team are off to the B.C. Track and Field Provincials beginning today (June 6th).

The three-day event, held in Nanaimo will feature many of the top high school athletes from across the province competing in the AA and AAA School Divisions.

Grade 12 student Mikayla Nichola and Keanu Manuel, a grade 11 student will carry the banner for MSS this weekend.

Mikayla will be competing in three events, the 100m, 200m and 400m races while Keanu is competing in the javelin.

MSS Athletic Director Gian Cavaliere know the two students will be great ambassadors for the school.

“We are excited to be sending these athletes to represent Merritt at the high school tack and field provincial championships”, said Cavaliere. ” I know they’ll do us proud!”
