Merritt Library | TNRD
MERRITT — The Merritt Library’s electric train is in need of repairs and would like to celebrate the tune up with a meet and greet.
The event will take place on Saturday, March 23, 2024 from 2-4 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided.
Friends of the Library (Friends) is excited to announce the 2nd Annual Newcomer’s Tea and celebration of the electric train.
Friends have been working behind the scenes to get the model train back on track with a much needed tune up.
Patrons of all ages are invited to enjoy watching the train move along the track.
There is no better way to celebrate the train and welcome newcomers into the Nicola Valley than to host a meet and greet in Merritt’s community library.
Support for this celebration is provided by the Neighbourhood Small Grants, the United Way Love Fund and local patrons and companies.
All Nicola Valley residents, train appreciators, and locals to are invited to the event.
Friends of the Library is a small grassroots group that supports local community building and use of the library space.
The library is on the former site of the Merritt train station and the electric train showcases the route through the Nicola Valley it once took.
