MERRITT — The protest that was supposed to be in conjoinment with The BC Nurses Union has been postponed due to poor weather conditions.
The Union will be sending nurses to Merritt front of the hospital at a later date.
They will be protesting weekly service disruptions, ongoing patient diversions and a shuttered emergency department in general.
for months nurses have called for a staffing contingency and better working conditions.
Mayor Goetz has mentioned the constant struggle it has been to have a smoothly running emergency department.
Many other small towns are having the exact same issues across B.C.
Merrittonians can join the Facebook group Nicola Valley ER Crisis for updates as well.
