West Kelowna McDougall Creek Fire leads to Evacuation Order

WEST KELOWNA — Central Okanagan Emergency Operations has confirmed structural losses due to the McDougall Creek wildfire blazing through West Kelowna. Currently around 2,500 properties are under evacuation order and almost 5000 properties are under alert.

An shelter is open at Prospera Place, if any Kelowna evacuees require a place to stay. Small pets caged or leashed are permitted.

Windy conditions overnight and all throughout today are making the situation much tougher to control.

Emergency officials are expected to provide a detailed update around 10 a.m.
