MERRITT — The heat wave is in full force and is expected to last until about Friday. Seniors are at risk of heat related illness and are being encouraged to take is easy this week, if they have to leave the house.
Make sure to drink plenty of fluids and avoid high energy activities or work outdoors, during midday heat.
The heat wave will see highs of 36-38 degrees, Tuesday being the hottest day.
Provincial Health Officer Bonnie Henry says the temperatures won’t hit the dangerous levels seen in 2021, which led to 600 deaths around British Columbia.
