Vehicle Accident Ties Up Highway 5A for Hours Wednesday

The investigation is underway to find the cause of an accident that closed a stretch of Highway 5A, near the Coyote Valley Road on Wednesday morning.

No word yet as to what caused a commercial vehicle to flip on its side and delay traffic. DriveBC reported the incident between the Highway 97C junction and Monck Park Road – nearly six kilometres north of Merritt – at around 7 a.m.

Highway 5A has since been re-open to single-lane alternating traffic. Drivers are told to expect minor delays.
