Two small fires pop up between Kamloops and Merritt

MERRITT – B.C. Wildfire Service crews are responding to a pair of new wildfire starts between Kamloops and Merritt.

The two spot-sized fires have popped up very close to each other between Stump Lake and Nicola Lake, and will be visible from Highway 5A.

Fire Information Officer Melanie Bibeau says two initial attack crews and two officers are en route to the fires.

It’s not known if any structures are threatened.
