DALLAS, TX. — Merritt’s Roger Sloan has qualified to compete in this year’s US Open.
Over this past weekend, Sloan competed in the Texas Golf Association US Open Qualifier, shooting a 9-under 132, in the two-round competition to secure his spot in the 123rd US Open.
The professional golfer from the Nicola Valley lost his full tour card last season and has been playing primarily on the Korn Ferry Tour. In his only appearance on Tour, Sloan made the cut and finished T79 at the Byron Nelson earlier this month. On the Korn Ferry circuit, Sloan has one top-25 finish in 9 event this season.
Sloan failed to make the cut at last year’s US Open.
The 123rd US Open will be held at the Los Angeles Country Club from June 15-to-18.
