Merritt RCMP assist in series of investigations through Southern BC
MERRITT – RCMP detachments throughout Southern B.C., including Merritt, partnered together to hand out numerous charges to two individuals over the past eight months.
“Between May 2nd 2022 and June 17th, 2022, Justin Colby and Raven Graham were involved in a series of break and enters, thefts from vehicles and credit card fraud throughout southern British Columbia, including the Sea to Sky corridor,” said Sgt. Sascha Banks.
The Sea to Sky RCMP – General Investigation Section conducted the investigation which included roughly 26 police files from areas including:
- Merritt
- Coquitlam
- Surrey
- Creston
- Stl’Atl’Imx Tribal Police Service
- West Vancouver Police Department
- Vancouver Police Department
- Integrated Police Dog Services
- Integrated Forensic Identification Services
- Integrated Municipal Provincial Auto Crime Team
According to police, in late January, 33 charges were sworn against the two, including:
- Dangerous Driving
- Flight from Peace Officer
- Fraud
- Mischief
- Break and Enter
- Possession of Stolen Property
- Theft under $500
- Theft of Motor Vehicle
“This crime spree affected many people in our community,” said Seat to Sky RCMP Sgt. Jeff Shore. “We are pleased to see that our hard work in putting all the pieces together has resulted in numerous charges against two prolific property crime offenders.”
