Merritt Centennials represented during the All-Star weekend

MERRITT – The BCHL All-Star weekend festivities kicks off tonight (January 20) in Penticton.
There is four Merritt Centennials taking part over the weekend.
Jackson Krill, Diego Johnson, Aleksey Chichkin, and Johnny Hicks will all be suiting up for the Top Prospects game. Hicks will also be playing in the Alumni & Friends game on Saturday (January 21), whereas Krill will take part in the 3-on-3 All-Star tournament games on Saturday as well.
On the season so far, Krill is second on the team in scoring with 28 points, scoring 14 goals and adding in 14 assists.
The 16-year-old rookie, Johnson, has 12 points throughout the season, finding the back of the net seven times and grabbing five assists.
Chichkin specializes more on the defensive side of the puck, blocking lots of shots and making sure the front of the net is cleared out. He has seven points this year, scoring once and helping on six.
Late addition to the prospects team, Hicks is having a stand-out year in net. In 23 appearances, Hicks has an 8-8-3-1 record with a 0.919 SV% and a 3.40 GAA.
