New bus stops coming to Merritt

MERRITT – As the new year approaches, it’s also bringing new bus stops throughout the City of Merritt.

BC Transit announced two new stops along with a Health Connections program.

Beginning January 3, 2023, a Health Connections stop will be added to added to the Nicola Meadows Seniors Residence at 2670 Garcia Street.

“Health Connections provides communities with accessible transportation options to medical appointments through a booking service,” wrote BC Transit in their release.

The other two will be placed near Barkman Concrete and the Merritt Green Energy Plant. The first is getting put on Houston Street at Midday Valley Road. The other is close by on Midday Valley Road at Houston. Both will be servicing route 23 Collettville – Diamond Vale.

Flag stops will be put in at each location, beginning January 3, until permanent stops can be installed.
