Fire breaks out at downtown business

MERRITT – A fire broke out this morning (August 24) at a downtown business.

Merritt Fire Rescue, along with Merritt RCMP and Paramedics, responded quickly to the flame on Quilchena Avenue.

Crews have blocked off a portion of the avenue around the incident.

Officials said the fire did not spread and the cause is still unknown.
