Severe thunderstorm watch issued for the Nicola Valley

MERRITT – A severe thunderstorm watch has been put in place for the entire Nicola Valley.

“Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when atmospheric conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms that could produce one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall,” said Environment Canada.

Officials recommend taking cover if threatening weather approaches, and to remember “when thunder roars, go indoors”.
