Level one water restrictions put in place throughout Merritt
MERRITT – Due to the hot weather, the City of Merritt has entered into level one water restrictions.
“As a general rule, the City of Merritt asks all residents to be mindful of water usage and practice sound water conservation principles, particularly in the hot, dry summer months, where residents typically use 2.5 times greater amounts of water than the winter months, mostly due to lawn watering,” said the City of Merritt. “It is worthy of noting that most well established lawns can go dormant and brown in the summer without any long-term damage.”
In part of level one restrictions, residents can only manually water on certain days and during certain times.
