Late Night Fire Destroys Home

Merritt RCMP and Merritt Fire Rescue are continuing their investigation into late night fire at a trailer in the Diamond Vale Trailer Park on Wednesday.

Sgt. Josh Roda of the Merritt detachment of the RCMP told Q101 that its too early into the investigation to make any assumptions into the cause of the fire. He added that no criminal charges are pending.

Meanwhile Fire Chief Dave Tomkinson said fire crews responded to the call around 10 p.m. with 17 members on scene. He said the response team returned to the Fire Station shortly after 5 a.m.

Anyone with information or anyone who may have witnesses anything related to the fire are asked to contact the Merritt RCMP at 250-378-4262.
