COVID-19: B.C. hospitalization total drops by 16 Wednesday

VICTORIA — The province’s Ministry of Health is reporting another sizable decrease in the number of people hospitalized with COVID-19.
In a news release, the ministry says the hospitalization total for Wednesday (Mar. 16) is 329, a decrease of 16 from Tuesday. There are 51 people in intensive care with the virus, an increase of one. Data surrounding vaccination status of those in hospital was not made available.
Eight more people have died of COVID-19, for a province-wide death toll of 2,953. None of the deaths took place in Interior Health.
There are nine healthcare facility outbreaks active in B.C., including Ponderosa Lodge in Kamloops and Hillside Village in Salmon Arm.
The province recorded 235 new positive cases Wednesday.
