Council to update strategic focus areas

This evening, Merritt City Council will hold a committee of the whole meeting to discuss a possible update to the city’s strategic focus areas.

The strategic focus areas were set last year prior to the devastating November floods and will likely need to be reworked to better reflect the current state of Merritt.

As they currently stand, the areas are listed as;

• Economic Prosperity
• Sound Government Practice
• First Nations Reconciliation
• Active and Thriving Merritt
• A Safe and Resilient Community
• Infrastructure for the Future
• Environmental Sustainability

Tonight’s committee of the whole is scheduled to begin at 6:00 pm in the chambers. The meeting will be open to the public and also live streamed.
