Hockey Community Extends Support to the City of Merritt
The Merritt Centennials proudly presented a donation totalling $2179 to the Merritt Rotary Club for flood relief efforts. This donation was presented by the team on behalf of the greater hockey community specifically the Penticton Vees and BC Hockey Hall of Fame.
The Penticton Vees graciously donated the proceeds from their 50/50 and chuck-a-puck equating to $904 during their November 26th game against the Centennials. This game was the first one back for the Centennials and it instilled a sense of community for the team despite them being on the road and displaced from home. The BC Hockey Hall of Fame increased the total donation by generously contributing $1275.
The money was presented to the Merritt Rotary Club which will then be dispersed to flood victims who are in need of relief and support.
The Centennials would like to thank the entire hockey community for all of the support they have provided to our community over the difficult past four months.
