Nicola Valley Arts Council debuts new exhibit

The Nicola Valley Arts Council is debuting their latest exhibit this week at their downtown Merritt gallery.

“Our community show theme is our pets and animals,” wrote curator Jano Howarth. “This past year has challenged our Nicola Valley community in so many ways. And one of the recurring challenges has been the care of our creatures- the pets and animals we care for.”

The exhibit brings together stories, photos and art from the Merritt community.

“We have art coming from featured artists Miriam Loken and Cassandra Dolen, as well as Katalin Kovacs and others. Several of our submissions are animal photos from photographers and community members,” continued Howarth.

“And we hope to share the stories of our creatures during our challenging year of forest fires and floods,” concluded Howarth.

The exhibit titled ‘Creature Comforts’ will run until March 13, 2022.
