Merritt’s Roger Sloan put four good rounds of golf together over the weekend to finish near the top of the leaderboard at The American Express in La Quinta, California.
Rebounding from a missed cut the week before at the Sony Open, Sloan opened the event with a 66 on Thursday, followed up by a 67 on Friday to enter the weekend in the hunt.
Unfortunately, Sloan would shoot 71 and 70 on the weekend and fall into a tie for 14th spot and -14. Hudson Swafford won at -23.
Fellow canucks Adam Hadwin and Nick Taylor had solid tournaments finishing T25, and T33 behind Sloan.
For his work Sloan moved up 33 spots in the FedEx Cup standings to 100th. Sloan earned $119,700 for the 14th place finish.
