COVID-19 hospitalizations ebb slightly in B.C.; 15 more deaths recorded
VICTORIA — The province is reporting a slight decrease in the number of COVID-19 patients in hospital Thursday (Jan. 20).
According to a health ministry news release, there are 891 people with COVID-19 in B.C. hospitals, a decrease of four from Wednesday.
The number of patients in intensive care is up by four to 119.
Fifteen people have died of the virus, lifting the provincial death toll to 2,520. Two of the deaths recorded Thursday were in Interior Health.
The province recorded 2,150 new cases Thursday, including 563 in IH.
Of all British Columbians aged five and older eligible for COVID-19 vaccine doses, 89.4 per cent have received their first dose and 83.5 per cent have received two doses. Of those 12 and older, 36.7 per cent have received three doses.
