With temperatures in the minus mid-twenties, the City of Merritt is looking to ensure that everybody has somewhere warm to be.
The Resiliency Centre, which has been set up at the Civic Centre to help the victims of November’s devastating floods, is now serving a dual purpose as a temporary warming centre.
Merritt’s CAO Sean Smith did note that the City is looking into extending the hours, however that last time the City opened an overnight warming centre, zero residents utilized the service.
