Merritt City Councilor Mike Bhangu has announced his immediate resignation from Council.
In a letter sent to City Officials, Bhangu cited just one reason for his departure.
“I resign my position, effective immediately, as I do not have the confidence in Mayor Linda Brown’s ability to lead, or represent each council member fairly,” said Bhangu.
“I would like to thank the people of Merritt for the opportunity to serve, and I thank all staff and councilors for their efforts in making Merritt a great place to be,” added Bhangu.
City Hall will be issuing a release shortly.
