Lower Nicola Band School providing bag lunches for flood victims
Today (Thursday, Dec. 9), the Lower Nicola Band School will be providing 500 bag lunches to the community and those in need after the devastating flood on November 15.
The free bagged lunches will be at NVIT from 12:00-1:30 this afternoon.
“What we want the students to understand is, that in the world disasters happen, we want the kids to learn how to give back to the community and be compassionate and caring and kind to others, and help people in times of need,” said Lower Nicola Band School Principal Angie Sterling.
Along with the lunches, door prizes will also be available for those who head up.
“We have tones of door prizes to give away, we have hundreds. We just want the community to know we’re thinking of them and we care about everybody,” said Sterling.
Door prizes include gift cards, advent calendars, chocolate, Christmas ornaments, and more.
