Highway contractor remains at full capacity after floods

Yellowhead Road and Bridge (YRB) is contracted by the province to clear the highway network around Merritt BC.

The company’s Nicola Valley base of operations is in Merritt, now under an evacuation order, however Yellowhead is confident in remaining at full capacity during this time.

“Yellowhead Road and Bridge intends to remain fully staffed on their winter shifts through the season,” said YRB Quality Manager, Andrew Stewart. “Some additional overtime will be used to cover for some of the employees that are dealing with evacuations and personal items in regards to the floods.”

The Nicola contract area contains the main cities of Merritt, Lytton and Logan Lake as well as the communities of Aspen Grove, Douglas Lake, Quilchena, Kingsvale, Brookmere and Mamette Lake to name a few.
