Third death reported from Royal Inland Hospital outbreak, two new cases from Unit 7 North

KAMLOOPS — A third death is related to the November COVID-19 outbreaks at Royal Inland Hospital.
As of Sunday evening (Nov. 14), Interior Health reports that one death is connected to the Unit 6 South outbreak that was declared on Wednesday (Nov. 10). The other two are connected to Unit 5 South.
Elsewhere, two staff/other COVID-19 cases were reported from the Unit 5 North outbreak.
The total cases per unit is as follows:
- Unit 5 North – four cases (two patient, two staff/other)
- Unit 6 South – nine cases (nine patient) and one death
- Unit 7 North – four cases (four patient)
- Unit 5 South – 26 cases (19 patient, seven staff/other) and two deaths
Temporary visitor restrictions were implemented at Royal Inland Hospital were implemented on Wednesday.
