B.C. finds 596 new COVID-19 cases Thursday; active cases tick up provincially and regionally

VICTORIA — B.C. is reporting 596 new cases of COVID-19 Thursday (Nov. 4), including 115 within Interior Health.
The numbers are contained in an update from the province’s Ministry of Health.
There are 4,451 active cases in B.C. Thursday (up by 78 from Wednesday), including 666 in IH (up by 28).
The province reports 438 people in hospital, with 130 in intensive care (down by seven).
Eight more people have died of the virus in the past 24 hours, none of them in Interior Health. The overall B.C. death toll is now 2,200.
Outbreaks remain active at 37 healthcare facilities in B.C., including Brocklehurst Gemstone Care Centre in Kamloops and Royal Inland Hospital’s 5 South wing.
