Excitement Building for Country Christmas

The excitement continues to build as plans for the 2021 Merritt Country Christmas begin to take shape.
This years festival will run in the city of Merritt, Nov. 22-27 and will feature many yuletide favorites such as the Country Craft Fair, the Love To Dance Recital, Community Concert and the annual Christmas Light Up Parade.

Parade coordinator Carrie Ware told Q101 that there has been lots of interest this year with registrations for the Craft Fair and Parade coming in fast and furious. As was the case as the last Santa Parade in 2019,  organizers opted to revamp the parade route making it longer so that people can still social distance and enjoy the spectacle.

“We are making the parade route a bit longer so that everyone can feel safe and still enjoy the parade at the same time,” said Ware. “We are also hoping this new route will cut down on long gaps in between floats.”

This year’s Christmas Light-Up Parade will be held Friday ,Nov. 26. The line-up begins at 5 p.m. and the parade gets underway at 6 p.m.
