Merritt records 43 new COVID-19 cases

The BC Centre for Disease Control has released the latest COVID-19 data, covering the week of September 26 – October 2, 2021.

The Merritt Local Health Area registered 43 new cases of the virus over that span, 20 more than the 23 cases recorded the week prior.

Kamloops had 226 new cases for the week, a slight increase of seven.

Cariboo/Chilcotin, 100 Mile House, Merritt and Salmon Arm saw substantial double-digit increases. However, LHAs such as Armstrong-Spallumcheen and Central Okanagan saw drastic decreases.

• Kamloops – 226 (up by seven from last week)

• Cariboo/Chilcotin – 89 (up by 24)

• North Thompson – four (up by three)

• 100 Mile House – 42 (up by 23)

• South Cariboo – 12 (down by four)

• Lillooet – 10 (up by one)

• Merritt – 43 (up by 20)

• Vernon – 64 (up by eight)

• Armstrong-Spallumcheen – six (down by 16)

• Enderby – 11 (down by 19)

• Salmon Arm – 60 (up by 17)

• Revelstoke – two (down by five)

• Central Okanagan (Kelowna) – 223 (down by 55)
