Roger Sloan is off to a strong start at his second PGA Tour event of the season.
The Merrittonian fired matching 33’s on the front and back nine at the Sanderson Farm Championship to open the weekend with a 6-under, 66. The effort puts Sloan in a tie for fourth place after round one, two strokes back of the leaders.
The local golfer missed the cut two weeks ago at the Fortinet Championship.
Fellow Canadians Adam Hadwin and Corey Conners are tied for 7th, one stroke behind Sloan. A total of eight canucks are in the field this weekend.
Sloan tees off for round two at 10:22am.
