City Council adopts new strategic planning document
Recently, Merritt City Council adopted a new strategic planning focus areas document.
The new document addresses seven key focus areas for council.
- Economic Prosperity
- Sound Government Practice
- First Nations Reconciliation
- Active and Thriving Merritt
- A Safe and Resilient Community
- Infrastructure for the Future
- Environmental Sustainability
Each focus area then breaks down into multiple subsections.
“This document is the culmination of a number of different sessions with Council, brainstorming, and taking feedback from the public, in order to develop a road map through the end of 2022. The idea is that this would be a document that would transition through the next council,” said CAO Sean Smith.
“It`s not just a wish list. This is something we looked at and worked at at length to work together as a team to make this stuff happen for the City of Merritt,” added Mayor Linda Brown.
