After the COVID-19 pandemic cancelled Merritt’s Country Christmas in 2020, the winter festivities are set to return this November.
Country Christmas Co-chair Carrie Ware joined Q101 to confirm the week long celebration.
“The board voted all in favour of Country Christmas 2021,” announced Ware. “We’ve looked at the rules regarding step 3 of the provincial restart plan and it’s actually going to be doable for holding Country Christmas this year.”
Country Christmas will begin on Monday, November 22nd with the Christmas tree light-up, and conclude with the craft fair on Saturday, November 28th. Ware also confirmed that the marquee event on Friday will also return.
“The festivities will definitely include the parade,” said Ware.
Further details are expected to be announced closer to the date on their Facebook page.
