TNRD gives all clear for nearly 1,000 properties near Merritt and Spences Bridge impacted by Lytton Creek fire

KAMLOOPS —Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) properties near Merritt and Spences Bridge are no longer threatened by the Lytton Creek wildfire.

The TNRD rescinded its evacuation alert to all clear for 955 properties, as the threat of wildfire in the area no longer poses an imminent risk to the safety of residents.

The remaining evacuation alerts issued in the area are from the Lower Nicola Indian Band, Nooaitch Indian Band, Shackan Indian Band, Nicomen Indian Band and Cook’s Ferry Indian Band.

Should conditions change, the TNRD said an evacuation order could be reinstated as necessary.
