Brookmere Evacuation Order Rescinding to Alert

Great news for those residents forced to evacuate their properties in the Brookmere -Coldwater Rd area, south of Merritt.

The Thompson-Nicola Regional District partially downgraded an evacuation order Tuesday  morning for 58 properties near the Brookmere as fire crews continue to battle the July Mountain Fire.

Residents at the following properties may return home, but remain on evacuation alert:

• 5815 Brookmere Rd.
• 872 to 933 Brookmere Station Rd.
• 905 to 920 Caboose Lane
• 5541 to 5633 Coldwater Rd.
• 5135 to 5147 Conductor Way
• 5120 to 5132 Engineer Ave.
• 5105 to 5152 Railway Dr.
• 852 to 1016 Roundhouse Dr.

Officals with the TNRD said an evacuation order could be reinstated if wildfire conditions worsen.
