Merritt records 17 new COVID-19 cases

As COVID-19 cases in the Interior Health Authority continue to surge, the Merritt Local Health Area has recorded its largest weekly case count in months.
For the week, covering August 8-14, the local area reporting 17 cases of the virus, almost triple the six cases from a week ago.
For the second week in a row, Kamloops has more than doubled its weekly COVID-19 cases, with cases jumping from 59 to 121.
The Central Okanagan saw a slighter increase than previous weeks, although it still reported 922 new COVID-19 cases – the most in B.C.
