Report: Trudeau planning to call election for September

KAMLOOPS – Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is planning to send Canadians to the polls September 20. According to a Reuters news agency report, Trudeau will make the announcement Sunday.

An election call has been rumoured for months on suggestions the governing Liberals are anxious to increase their share of seats in the House of Commons.

The Liberals are governing with a minority government. Trudeau will be looking to secure a majority government in the election.
