Merritt temperature records fall for second consecutive day

For the second day running the Merritt area has set a pair of temperature records.
Environment Canada is reporting that the mercury in Merritt hit 43.2 degrees Celsius on Monday afternoon. That surpasses the June 28th record of 39.2 set in 2015.
The 43.2 high is also now the highest all-time temperature recorded in the city. The previous record was set on Sunday when highs hit 42.2.
Multiple records were set around the Province on Monday including Kamloops which hit 45.8, a new all-time high.
Lytton BC set the all-time Canadian record for the second day in a row hitting a high of 47.9.
