A reported vehicle fire along Highway 97C, the Connector, has sparked a wildfire just East of Merritt.
The BC Wildfire Service is reporting the blaze is approximately nine hectares in size as of Thursday morning.
The fire is located just East of Merritt along the Connector after the old visitor centre but before the turnoff for the Guichon Interpretive site.
The fire is still classified as ‘new’ by the Wildfire Service.
