Merritt Fire responds to moving trailer fire

Early Tuesday morning, Merritt Fire was called out to a moving trailer fire on the north end of town.

Fire Chief Dave Tomkinson confirmed that six firefighters responded to the scene.

“Stubborn fire as firefighters had to unload the cargo by hand while supressing the flames,” added Tomkinson.

It’s believed the fire was started by the trailer brakes and spread to the cargo.
