SD58 preparing for stage-1 start to the school year

School District 58 Nicola-Similkameen is preparing for a return to stage-1 for September.

Stage-1 is back to pre-COVID-19 instruction, with some added health and safety measures remaining in place.

“We’re reaching out to families to make sure we understand where they are going to be,” said Superintendent Steve McNiven. “We are eager to have them back in their community schools, but we also want to be supportive in a decision that is right for them.”

McNiven mentioned that school principals are reaching out to families this month.

“I’ve already received some feedback acknowledging that many people are choosing to come back in September for stage-1,” added McNiven.

The return to stage-1 will be determined by the state of COVID-19 in the province some September.
