Ballot set for Shackan Band election

Members of the Shackan Indian Band are heading to the polls later this month to elect a Chief and two councillors.

The election will be held on March 27, 2021 with advanced electronic voting beginning on March 17, 2021.

Chief Jordan Joe is facing two challengers in his quest for re-election. Jordan has served one-term as Chief of the band.

Five community members have put their name forward for a position on council.

Running for council;

• Mary Angus
• Yvonne Joe
• Joan Seymour
• Sharon Stone
• Lindsay Tighe

Successful candidates will serve a three year term.
