Fourteen local women honoured on International Women’s Day

March 8 is International Women’s day. In 2021, the theme is ‘choose to challenge.’

In the Nicola Valley, the Women in Action Board is once again preparing to honour a group of local difference makers.

While under normal, non COVID-19 circumstances the board would the group of 14 women to a party in their honour, the pandemic has forced them to adapt.

“We didn’t want to just do nothing. We know that there is a lot of amazing women in the Nicola Valley. We want to carry on and honour them in some way. This will be the 17^th year we’ve honoured women from the Nicola Valley,” said organizer Carol Fulcher.

So instead of a big party, the board will be hand delivering a gift package to each and everyone of this year’s winners.

“Each one of them has had amazing contributions. Doing all that they can do in the community to have a positive impact and just show an incredible level of kindness,” added Fulcher.
