School District 58 Nicola Similkameen is informing parents of a positive case of COVID-19 at Merritt Secondary School (MSS).
The exposure is stated to have occurred on February 24, 2021.
It’s the first confirmed case at MSS since January 20, and the fifth case overall at the school.
The Interior Health Authority is responsible for the contact tracing and will contact anybody in the community who needs to self-isolate.
“If you have not been contacted by Interior Health Authority, it has been determined that your child is not at risk of developing COVID-19,” wrote Superintendent Steve McNiven.
