Even though summer is a few months away, Janet Allsopp is busy reaching out to artists and entertainers hoping to perform for the City of Merritt’s “Music In The Park” concert series, beginning in July.
“The “Music In The Park” series has become so popular, that we had people inquire about performing before our call for performers was put out,” said Allsopp, who is the City of Merritt’s Recreation programmer. “I think this year’s array of talent will be terrific.”
Allsopp added that the application deadline for interested groups or individuals to get their material in to the city’s recreation department is fast approaching.
“Submissions must be in by April 17, ” she added. “This will give us a bit of time to work on the schedule and to work out any details that may arise.”
As in past years, the “Music In the Park” will be held every Thursday evening beginning July 2 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Rotary Park Bandshell.
Any performers from the Nicola Valley and beyond who are interested in showcasing their talents can visit the City of Merritt’s webpage at www.merritt.ca or reach out to Janet Allsopp at 250-315-1050.
