Merritt U15 wins U15 Thompson Cariboo Super League Playoff Championship

A new banner will soon be hanging from the rafters at the Nicola Valley Memorial Arena, after the U15 Merritt Centennials captured top honors at the U15 Thompson Cariboo Super League Playoff Championship this past weekend in Lillooet.

The U15 team coached by Justin Farmer and Mike Sahota went undefeated during the tournament, then defeated Logan Lake 5-2 in the semi-finals then downed Lillooet in the final by the same 5-2 score with Mitch Denton scoring four goals and adding an assist for the Cents in the championship game.

Merritt finished first in the U15 Thompson Cariboo Super League Playoff Championship, followed by Lillooet in second, and third place went to 100 Mile House.

The Merritt U15 Centennials will now host the districts this weekend at the Nicola Valley Memorial Arena and Shulus Arena.

Merritt will face Penticton on Friday at 3:00 p.m. Friday, before playing Lillooet at noon on Saturday. The Cents will then host Lumby Saturday night at 6:00 p.m. at the Shulus Arena.
