A 63-year-old man was found dead at a home in Merritt last week.
In an update distributed Thursday (Feb. 26), BC RCMP’s Southeast District Major Crime Unit (SED MCU) identifies the victim as Clive Hack. The Mounties are releasing Hack’s name to advance the investigation, as police believe his death is criminal in nature.
“Our investigators are working diligently to determine what happened and we are asking anyone who may have information to reach out,” Sgt. Robert Kee, acting SED MCU Commander states. “Even information that seems minor could help move this investigation forward.”
On Friday Feb 20, Merritt RCMP Staff Sgt. Josh Roda told Q101 Merritt there was an isolated incident and frontline officers were called to 1990 Houston St.
Investigators are asking for anyone who was travelling near Houston Street at Nicola Avenue between 10:00 p.m. on Feb.19, 2026, and 10:00 a.m. on Feb. 20, 2026, to contact police.
Anyone with information about Hack’s death or dashcam video is asked to contact the SED MCU information line at 1-877-987-8477.
