Around 15 to 20 centimetres of snowfall is expected for the stretch of Highway 5. It’s due to a convective system that will bring periods of snow to the area throughout the day.
“Roads and walkways will likely be difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow,” Environment Canada states. “Visibility will likely be reduced at times. Weather in the mountains can change suddenly, resulting in hazardous driving conditions.”
A similar snowfall warning is in effect for Highway 3 from Hope to Princeton. A snowfall warning is also in effect for the Sea to Sky corridor through Monday morning.
No weather alerts are in effect through the Fraser Canyon.
